Evaluation Day is broken up into time slots by division:

8U from 10 a.m. to noon
 Last name A-H at 10:00 a.m.
Last name I-P at 10:30 a.m.
 Last name Q-Z at 11:00 a.m.
Pitchers to be additionally evaluated at 11:30 a.m.

10U from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.
 Last name A-M at 12:00 noon
Last name N-Z at 12:30 p.m.
Pitchers to be additionally evaluated at 1:00 p.m.

12U from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 Last name A-M at 1:30 p.m. 
Last name N-Z at 2:00 p.m.
Pitchers to be additionally evaluated at 2:30 p.m.

LA84 Foundation Offers Coaching Clinic for Wilshire Softball!
February 4th, 10am to 12 noon
Lemon Grove Rec Center

We have partnered with the LA84 Foundation to provide a coaching clinic this season. Attendance at this clinic is MANDATORY for all our managers.  Assistant coaches are encouraged to attend, as well as any interested parent volunteers.  

In conjunction with this coaching clinic, we are planning a
Players' Skills Clinic from 10am - 1pm
at the same location, divided by division:
8U - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
10U - 11:00 a.m. to noon
12U - noon to 1 p.m.

EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS AT WILSHIRE SOFTBALL!

Accessible, quality field space has proven to be one of the critical challenges facing Wilshire Softball. 

We are pleased to announce that giant strides have been made to overcome this hurdle.  We have secured the necessary permits from the City of Los Angeles and obtained the required insurance to allow us to contract with a recognized athletic field contractor to accomplish MAJOR FIELD IMPROVEMENTS at both of our "home fields": Lemon Grove Recreaton Center and Queen Anne Recreation Center.

Our contractor has been re-grading the infields, adding over 100 tons of new infield mix and soil conditioner for state of the art play and drainage, cutting a perfect radius into the outfield with new grass tie-in, install and improve irrigation, and reset all bases.  Additional improvements to the dugouts and storage at Queen Anne are also planned.  Work at Lemon Grove commenced November 21st and at Queen Anne on December 5th and will be completed prior to Evaluation Day and our 2012 Spring Season.  Stop by and check out your NEW FIELDS!

But we need your help!!!  This project will cost about $40,000 to complete all three fields at both parks, and we must raise the funds quickly.  While we have received permission from the City of Los Angeles to do the project, they cannot assist with covering all the cost.  Marlborough High School, which uses Lemon Grove as their teams' home field, has graciously agreed to assist us with funding for that park's project.  We also have received a commitment from a group of anonymous donors to MATCH ANY FUNDS DONATED collected through Wilshire Softball families, but we need 100% participation.  Please add your donation for this important project through the 2012 Spring Season registration portal starting on November 18th, or you can contact wilshiresoftballregistrar@gmail.com for information about where to send your donations by check.

We are a 501c3 corporation so all donations are tax-deductible and we are eligible to receive matching gifts from employers.

FALL BALL 2011

Wilshire Softball had a very successful Fall Ball program this year in the 8U, 10U and 12U divisions.  Our 12U select team was the runner up out of 15 teams in the Burbank League's Gold Division.   Many thanks to all of our players, parents and coaches for a fun Fall season! 

Fall Ball is intended to be instructional and focused on player development in all divisions.
